Raipur, Jul 9 (PTI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday said the three-day training session organised for BJP MLAs and its MPs from the state will be helpful in establishing good governance and boosting development.

The state BJP-organised training session started on Monday and concluded on Wednesday.

A total of 12 sessions were held at the session during which party leaders and office-bearers gave lectures on different subjects, said the CM, adding all BJP lawmakers from the state were present at the programme.

He was talking to reporters at the Raipur airport after returning from Mainpat in Surguja district where the training session for the ruling BJP lawmakers was held.

The programme was inaugurated by BJP president JP Nadda.

“We are public representatives and people elect us to stand with them in time of their joy and grief and carry out development in their respective areas. The training session will be effective in establishing good governance in the state and for its development,” Sai added.

Queried about Congress’ taunt over the training session, the CM shot back, saying the opposition party’s leaders are a frustrated lot due to poll losses.

“It (Congress) is a ‘pariwarwadi’ (family) party and is dependent on the Gandhi family. They (Congress members) are so frustrated with loss in assembly, Lok Sabha, urban bodies and panchayat body elections in the state that they don’t have anything to say,” said the BJP leader.

“Continuous practice and training is an important part of the BJP’s working system. The party has a tradition of regular training from the Mandal unit to the National Executive,” Sai said in a written statement.

Such sessions, regularly organised at various levels for party workers, office-bearers and public representatives, also enlighten and guide BJP members on various issues, including the party’s policies, programmes and action plans, he maintained.

“Staying together and sharing meals with workers increases mutual understanding and harmony. Relationships become stronger. We are all part of a family, this family feeling towards the party also strengthens (at such events),” the CM emphasised.

Lawmakers benefited from speeches of national leaders and subject experts at the session. It will help in improving the party’s working system further, he added. PTI TKP RSY
