Bus plunges into gorge in Himachal’s Bilaspur, over 30 injured

Bilaspur (HP), Jul 11 (PTI) Over 30 passengers were injured, seven of them seriously, when a bus fell into a deep gorge near Namhol Chowk in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district early Friday, police said.

The bus carrying 36 people was on its way back from Nurmahal in Punjab to Darlaghat when the driver lost control.

On hearing screams of the passengers, locals informed the police and also initiated rescue efforts. The injured were immediately taken to AIIMS Bilaspur.

Bilaspur police have registered a case of accident and further investigations are underway, police said.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the AIIMS and enquired about the condition of the injured. PTI COR BPL DV DV
