Thane, Apr 16 (PTI) A 13-year-old boy died after falling into a water tank in a housing complex in Maharashtra’s Thane district, police said on Thursday.

The incident took place in the Bhiwandi area on Tuesday, when the boy, Arham Jamal Khan, was playing, an official said.

Khan apparently fell into a water tank on the residential building premises. While locals pulled him out and rushed him to a hospital, doctors declared him dead, said the official from the Bhiwandi Town police station.

Police did not specify whether it was an underground or overground tank.

A case of accidental death has been registered for now, and further investigation into the incident is underway, he added. PTI COR NR
