Ballari (Karnataka), Sep 10 (PTI) Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra on Thursday hit out at the D K Shivakumar-led Congress administration, alleging it had “zero achievements” in its first 100 days and calling it an “advertising government”.
He said the people had already decided to send the government home and claimed that even MLAs from the ruling party were speaking out against it.
The government, led by CM Shivakumar, completed 100 days in office.
“This government will go home as soon as possible. The people have already made that decision. Even MLAs from the ruling party are speaking out against the government and the CM,” Vijayendra said in response to a question.
Speaking to reporters here, he said, “Our fight against this corrupt and anti-people government has begun. The BJP will achieve an unprecedented victory on the electoral battlefield. Neither DK (Shivakumar) nor BK (state Congress chief B K Hariprasad) can stop our victory. The BJP will receive the blessings of the people.” Vijayendra alleged that the government had failed to introduce any people-friendly programmes and had not addressed unemployment among the youth.
“The achievements of this government are zero. The people themselves are saying this in every household. This is not a popular government; it is an advertising government,” he said.
He alleged that the exploitation of the poor, underprivileged and oppressed had continued and that the government was merely “patting itself on the back” by claiming to have fulfilled its promises.
Vijayendra said the government was under the illusion that it could win public support through advertisements.
“The people themselves will give an appropriate response to all of this in the days to come. They will teach this government a lesson,” he said. PTI KSU SSK
