Patna, Apr 30 (PTI) Senior BJP leader Arvind Sharma on Thursday filed his nomination for a bypoll to the Bihar legislative council, necessitated after former minister Mangal Pandey got elected to the state assembly.

Sharma filed his nomination papers at the Assembly secretariat in the presence of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and a host of NDA leaders, including Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi and his counterparts in the JD(U) and the LJP(RV), Umesh Kushwaha and Raju Tiwari, respectively.

Sharma is seeking election to a seat vacated by Pandey, a former state BJP president, in November last year, when he got elected from the Siwan assembly constituency.
