Thane, May 1 (PTI) A car carrying BJP MP Hemant Sawra met with an accident in Maharashtra’s Thane city in the early hours of Friday, police said.
While the Palghar MP escaped unhurt, the car driver suffered minor injuries in the accident on Ghodbunder Road, an official said.
The car was proceeding towards Gujarat when it collided with the dumper coming from the opposite direction, he said, adding that the car’s airbags deployed immediately, saving the occupants.
Personnel from the Naigaon police station rushed to the spot and provided help. The local police are probing into the incident, the official said.
