Bengaluru, Jun 24 (PTI) The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Bengaluru branch office, organised ‘manak manthan’ on Tuesday to strengthen industry involvement in the formulation, revision, and implementation of Indian standards.

According to Narender Reddy Beesu, Scientist-E and Director, BIS Bengaluru, standards play a critical role in building a quality-driven ecosystem. He encouraged participants to engage actively in the standardisation process.

Beesu emphasised BIS’s openness to feedback and queries from stakeholders to further strengthen mutual collaboration, as stated in a press release.

K Rajashekhar, Scientist-D and Joint Director, BIS Bengaluru, said the platform serves as an open forum for dialogue, clarification, and awareness regarding new and revised Indian Standards.

He called for greater participation from manufacturers, industry representatives, and quality professionals to ensure that standards remain practical, current, and impactful.

A key highlight of the programme, the release stated, was the detailed technical session on wrought and cast aluminium utensils, conducted by Beesu.

The session provided in-depth insights into product specifications, technical changes, compliance requirements, and the implications of the revised standards for certification and production processes.

The event witnessed participation from over 35 industry stakeholders, the release added. PTI JR SSK
