Jaipur, Sep 25 (PTI) BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Friday asked youths to keep their vision high, avoid shortcuts and not let failures push them into frustration or to take extreme steps.
Interacting with youths at a ‘Yuva Samvad’ programme at Birla auditorium here, Nabin said young people needed to redefine success and focus not only on becoming successful professionals but also good citizens.
“One may become a good engineer or doctor, but becoming a good citizen is more important,” Nabin said.
He said youths should not be afraid of failure, and should avoid shortcuts in life, as they would not lead them to the right destination.
“Life is precious. If you face failure, you should not immediately move in the wrong direction or put your life at stake. If we have been given this life, we should do something meaningful for our parents and for this land,” he said.
Nabin said the principle of “Nation First” should guide people, followed by the organisation and then the individual.
He also called for greater positive participation of youths in politics, saying politics gives direction to the country and leadership was not merely about making policies but also about bringing people together.
Referring to India’s economic progress, Nabin said the country was once counted among the “Fragile Five” economies but was now among the world’s fastest-growing major economies.
During the interaction, several young participants shared their views and suggestions, including the positive use of artificial intelligence, keeping youths away from drugs, and the role of youth clubs in schools and colleges in building a developed India by 2047.
One participant, Vanshika, said youths should follow their passion and work with dedication to bring recognition to the country. She also spoke about her experience after receiving the Rajasthan Youth Icon award.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, who also addressed the programme, said youths would have an important role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047.
He said programmes under the ‘Seva Sankalp’ initiative were being held from September 17 to October 17.
Sharma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life and work were an inspiration for youths and the Centre’s policies were focused on empowering youths, women, farmers and workers.
“Our government is working for the youth. We have formulated policies for them, and not a single paper leak has taken place during our government’s tenure,” Sharma said.
Nabin’s interaction with youths was part of his day-long visit to Jaipur, during which he attended several party and public programmes. PTI SDA RUK
