Avalanche hits Gulmarg ski resort, one foreigner dead, two injured

According to the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the avalanche hit the resort at around 2 pm, in Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir.

New Delhi: A landslide hit a Gulmarg ski resort in Jammu & Kashmir, trapping three foreigners under snow on Thursday afternoon.

One of the foreigners has died, while the other two are injured. According to the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the avalanche hit the resort at around 2 pm, in Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir.

The DDMA said in a statement, “Around 2 pm, an avalanche was recorded in Gulmarg, trapping three foreigners. Tragically, one among them is dead, one injured, and another remains missing.”

A video clip of the avalanche went viral on social media, showing three foreigners trapped under the snow. Rescue operations are underway.
