New Delhi: At least six children are feared dead after their boat overturned in a lake near Vadodara in Gujarat Thursday.

There were 27 school students on the boat cruising in the Harni Motnath lake, Vadodara Collector A.B. Gor said, adding that rescue operations were underway.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel condoled the deaths in a post on X. “The incident of children drowning after the boat capsized in Vadodara’s Harni lake is extremely heartbreaking. I pray for the peace of the souls of the innocent children who lost their lives. My deepest condolences to his family in this hour of sorrow.
