Nagaon, Aug 28 (PTI) A doctor of Assam’s Nagaon Medical College and Hospital collapsed and died while exercising at a local gym, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred on Thursday at the gym in Dimoruguri area of the town, they said.
A footage captured on CCTV camera showed Shahin Ahmed, 50, suddenly collapsing while exercising.
Those present at the gym rushed to help him and offered water, but the doctor reportedly died of cardiac arrest on the spot, police said.
Though the post-mortem report is awaited, initial examination indicated cardiac arrest as the cause of death, an officer said, adding, the matter is under investigation.
Ahmed is a resident of Guwahati and had joined the hospital nearly a year ago. PTI SSG RBT
