Koderma, Jun 28 (PTI) A 32-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested after he allegedly threatened passengers with a pistol aboard a train in Jharkhand, officials said on Sunday.
Diwakar Kumar, a resident of Pratapgarh district in UP, was apprehended on Saturday from the Anand Vihar-Hatia Express’s B-1 coach, they said.
The train was intercepted at the Koderma railway station by GRP and RPF personnel, and the accused was deboarded, they added.
The man allegedly resisted the security personnel and scuffled with them. A search of his belongings led to the recovery of a loaded pistol and 18 live cartridges, according to an official statement.
During interrogation, Kumar told investigators that he had boarded the train at Prayagraj and was travelling to Ranchi. He claimed to be employed as a security guard.
