Amaravati, Apr 22 (PTI) The Andhra Pradesh government has increased reservation for locals to 95 percent in direct recruitment to posts in local cadre under the state government.

This reservation applies to posts at the level of a junior assistant or below, said a recent government order (GO).

“Reservation in matter of direct recruitment – 95 percent of the posts to be filled by direct recruitment at any time…in any local cadre under the State Government comprising posts belonging to the category of junior assistant or a category equivalent to or lower than that of junior assistant,” said the GO.

Among other conditions, this quota will also apply to any cadre under a local authority comprising posts carrying a scale of pay which does not exceed that of a junior assistant.

However, this reservation will not apply to any post in the secretariat, an office of the head of a department, a special office or establishment, state-level office or institution and any police post in the commissionerate located in the capital area, the GO added. PTI STH ROH
