New Delhi, Nov 3 (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in the concluding ceremony of Chhattisgarh foundation day on Tuesday.
During his visit to the state, he will also inaugurate Artemis Shanti Hospital in Raipur, followed by the inauguration of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Park in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, according to the BJP.
Chhattisgarh was carved out of Madhya Pradesh on November 1, 2000.
On November 1, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said this year’s Rajyotsav, marking the state’s 26th foundation day, is historic and special as it is the first since the state was freed from the Maoist menace.
The state was declared free of Naxalism on March 31, 2026, marking the end of a four-decade-long Maoist insurgency in the region.
In a video message released late Saturday night, Sai greeted the people and said the completion of 26 years since the state’s formation on November 1, 2000, is a moment of pride for everyone.
“This year’s Rajyotsav is historic and special in many ways. This is the first Statehood Day when Chhattisgarh, free from the red terror, is moving towards a new era of peace, trust and development,” he said.
Remembering former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he noted that the creation of Chhattisgarh was made possible by his visionary leadership and firm resolve. PTI KSH
