Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking registration of a criminal case against Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya over allegations of producing fake educational degree while contesting election and for obtaining dealership of a petrol pump.
Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh dismissed the revision filed by one Diwaker Nath Tripathi.
Tripathi moved court after a magisterial court dismissed his plea seeking FIR against Maurya.
However, in February 2024 the high court dismissed his revision plea on the ground of delay noting that the petition was filed more than 300 days after the trial court’s order.
In January, the Supreme Court condoned the delay and directed the high court to examine the matter on merits.
Following top court’s directions, Tripathi again approached the high court with a fresh revision plea on the same grounds.
The court reserved its verdict on May 23 after hearing counsel for both parties.
