Lucknow, Jul 9 (PTI) Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said that if voted back to power, his party would revive prestigious honours such as Yash Bharti and Rani Laxmibai award, which were discontinued by the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government.
These awards, which recognised excellence in fields like sports, arts, and literature, also came with cash honorariums and public recognition.
While Yash Bharti was given to achievers who hailed from Uttar Pradesh, Rani Lakshmi Bai award was specifically for women achievers.
Reiterating his party’s commitment to recognising talent across domains, Yadav said, “Whether they reside in Uttar Pradesh or elsewhere, deserving individuals will be honoured by the SP government through these reinstated awards.” Speaking at the party office in Lucknow, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister welcomed several new entrants to the SP, including social media influencer and fitness enthusiast Raja Yadav, popularly known as the “Bihari Tarzan” for his viral fitness and stunt videos.
Raja Yadav has over 3.6 million followers on Instagram. PTI KIS DV DV
