New Delhi: Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to collaborate and enhance the understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) across diverse stakeholders including students, teachers, innovators, and entrepreneurs of India, a PIB press release stated.
The partnership aims to take advantage of India’s innovation-based knowledge economy and promote it globally.
The scope and objectives of the joint program are to: take the key AIM programs (ATL, AIC models) to the nations of the global south and those in transition; enhance the understanding of IPR among various stakeholders, including students, teachers, innovators, and entrepreneurs of India; and establish a network of trainers of innovation, creativity, and IP.
The partnership between AIM and WIPO will strengthen the capacity of both parties to provide training and capacity-building programs on the development of an innovation-based economy and the importance of IPR for development and economic growth. This will include a series of workshops, policy-making meetings, and other activities that will promote a better understanding of IPR and its role in driving innovation and sustainable development.
