Thane, Jun 6 (PTI) Agri Sena founder Rajaram Salvi, who was associated with various political parties at different times, passed away here on Saturday, following a protracted illness, a spokesperson for the organisation said.
Salvi, a prominent voice for the indigenous Agri community, was 80.
He had served as the Maharashtra state president of the Samajwadi Party before joining the BJP, where he worked closely with senior leaders like Gopinath Munde and Pramod Mahajan, eventually heading the state’s OBC Corporation, the spokesperson said.
Salvi is survived by his wife, a son, and two daughters. His funeral will be held on Sunday in Kalwa. PTI COR NR
