Kochi, Aug 3 (PTI) The pro-RSS student organisation, ABVP, here on Monday said that it would submit a comprehensive set of recommendations to the High-Powered Committee on exam reforms set up by the Centre, following the NEET paper leak row.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leaders told this at a press conference here following the conclusion of their two-day Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Aluva near here on August 1 and 2.
ABVP expressed concern over recurring question paper leaks in examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) and recruitment examinations in Punjab, saying such incidents had undermined students’ faith in the examination system.
The organisation extended its support to affected students and appealed to student organisations, educationists and civil society to strengthen the movement for examination reforms.
ABVP National General Secretary Virendra Singh Solanki said repeated question paper leaks in Jharkhand, Bihar, Karnataka and Punjab had raised serious concerns over the credibility of the examination system.
“ABVP fully supports the legitimate demands and democratic movements of students. Every student has the right to a fair, transparent, credible and error-free examination system,” he said.
With this objective, ABVP will submit detailed recommendations before the High-Powered Committee constituted by the Government of India following the NEET examination irregularities, advocating the institutional reforms necessary to strengthen the country’s examination framework,” he said.
He said that ABVP will enhance its activities in Kerala.
“In the coming months, ABVP will intensify the ‘Campus to Campus Vande Mataram’ campaign and the ‘Screen Time to Activity Time’ initiative across educational institutions in Kerala, inspiring students towards patriotism, physical activity, leadership and constructive campus engagement,” he said.
