Bokaro, Jul 14 (PTI) A seven-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by two other boys in Jharkhand’s Bokaro district, police said on Tuesday.
The child had gone to pluck mangoes when two boys from the same village allegedly overpowered him, dragged him to a secluded place, tied him with a rope and sexually assaulted him, according to the complaint filed by the victim’s mother.
“The victim did not disclose the incident immediately as he was traumatised and frightened by the threats allegedly issued by the accused, despite suffering severe pain in his genitals. He repeatedly refused to attend school, prompting his mother to question him, following which he recounted the ordeal,” Kasmar police station’s officer-in-charge Kundar Kumar said.
A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and an investigation started, he said.
No detentions have been made so far, he added. PTI ANB SOM
