Bengaluru, Aug 27 (PTI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Thursday said five people from Bengaluru who had travelled to Nepal are missing following the devastating floods there and efforts are on to reach them.
“Five people from Bengaluru who had gone to Nepal are missing. We are trying to contact them,” Parameshwara said briefing reporters here.
He also said a senior government officer and if necessry a minister will be deputed to Kathmandu to oversee relief and rescue operations for those stranded there.
Parameshwara also released a dedicated toll-free helpline number for stranded residents and affected families seeking assistance.
“Whoever is stranded in Nepal or is caught in that difficult situation can contact this toll-free number- 1070/0802253707,” he added. PTI GMS ROH
