Thane, Jul 14 (PTI) Police have seized 20 kg of ganja valued at Rs 4 lakh from a car and arrested three persons in this connection in Maharashtra’s Thane district, officials said on Monday.
A police team spotted the car parked near a temple in Kamathghar area on Friday.
During inspection, they recovered 20.663 kg of ganja concealed inside the vehicle, an official from Narpoli police station said.
The car was impounded and its three occupants were taken into custody, he said.
The seized ganja is valued at Rs 4,02,928 in the illicit drug market, the official said.
The arrested persons comprise two unemployed men, aged 25 and 29 and hailing from Shirpur in Dhule district, and a 25-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh, he said.
They have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the police added. PTI COR GK
