10 cars damaged in fire in Mumbai’s Govandi

Mumbai, Apr 23 (PTI) At least 10 four-wheelers were damaged in a fire in Mumbai’s Govandi area on Thursday afternoon, officials said.

The blaze erupted near Bainganwadi signal on the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road around 11.45 am, they said.

A civic official said that on being alerted, personnel of the Mumbai fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused it at 12.22 pm.

“The fire damaged 10 to 12 parked vehicles. As per a video that is doing rounds, even the CNG cylinder of a car exploded,” he said.

No injuries were reported in the incident, the official said, adding that the cause of the fire was being ascertained. PTI KK NP
