New Delhi: Space agency ISRO on Sunday released the first set of pictures of the Earth captured by Chandrayaan 2, the country’s second Moon mission launched a fortnight ago.
The pictures were captured by L 14 camera on board Chandrayaan II, showing the earth in different hues.
“Earth as viewed by #Chandrayaan2 LI4 Camera on August 3, 2019 17:34 UT,” the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) tweeted along with the pictures.

Finally we get to see these pictures. They are not of good quality. They are not sharp. The colors are also artificial: is the earth yellow-green? What about the colour of the oceans? Last I heard it was blue.
Isro is good at propulsion as the Mangalyaan probe showed. But they are clearly lagging in other fields.
And can they use simpler names? The announcer herself is mispronouncing it. If NASA can launch a satellite called Chandra, why not Isro?
Beautiful pale blue dot. As children, we were taught proofs that the earth was round, oblate spheroid, actually. After all the others came the clincher : Photographs taken from satellites show this to be true.
