New Delhi: Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is on a two-day state visit to India, said Wednesday that the strategic partnership between India and Greece is of “particular” importance and that efforts are underway to explore further expansion of ties.
Mitsotakis is the first head of state of Greece to visit India in the last 15 years.
As both nations seek to strengthen their ties, the recent developments in India-Greece relations highlight the importance of this partnership in addressing contemporary geopolitical challenges.
“For Greece, the strategic partnership between our two countries is of particular importance and we will have the opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics including on strategic partnership, and fostering our economic engagement,” said Mitsotakis, who was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, Mitsotakis met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar before his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House.
