New Delhi: Thousands of farmers from Punjab and Haryana are still camped on the Delhi-Haryana border on their way to enter the national capital as part of their protest against the Modi government’s three farm laws.

At the border, police fired tear gas shells to disperse the farmers, who broke two layers of barriers, before they were allowed to enter Delhi.

On Friday late afternoon, it was decided that the police will escort the farmers to Burari’s Nirankari Ground. However, the farmers refused to move and demanded to go to Ramlila Maidan instead.

The farmers, who have travelled from different parts of Punjab and Haryana, seem to have come fully prepared with trucks full of ration, ready for a long stand-off.

ThePrint’s senior multimedia journalist Manisha Mondal brings you pictures from after the chaos when farmers were seen preparing for dinner.
