Ahmedabad, Gujarat: In the run-up to the second phase of the Gujarat assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday held a three-hour-long mega roadshow spanning 16 assembly constituencies in Ahmedabad. These constituencies included Thakkarbapa Nagar, Bapunagar, Nikol, Amraiwadi, Maninagar, Danilimda, Jamalpur-Khadia, Ellisbridge, Vejalpur, Ghatlodia, Naranpura and Sabarmati, among others.
Locals lined up on both sides of the streets along the route to catch a glimpse of Modi were seen showering flowers on his convoy and chanting his name. The Prime Minister, on his part, was seen waving to enthusiastic supporters. This was Modi’s first election outing after a gap of two days owing to the first phase of voting held earlier today.
Covering over 50 km, the roadshow began from Naroda Gam and concluded at Gandhinagar South constituency. PM Modi was scheduled to make at least 35 stops at memorials of prominent personalities including Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose along the way.
