New Delhi: A video of a man throwing milk on the Holy Kaaba of Mecca in Saudi Arabia has gone viral on Facebook.

Ritesh Mukhia, a Facebook user whose profile says “works at Sanatan Dharm”, posted a video Monday of a man throwing milk over the Holy Kaaba of Mecca. The text with the post said — “Irani Muslim man pouring milk in Mecca Mazaar. Said he was a Hindu before. Jai Shree Ram.” The Hindu community considers pouring milk over Shiva Lingam a pious act.

In the video, the man could be seen throwing a liquid at the Kaaba. The crowd around him is then seen getting a hold of him but the video doesn’t reveal what happens next.

The video posted by Mukhia received more than 2,000 shares and was viewed by more than 51,000 users.

However, the liquid that the man threw was not milk but petrol. The original video was posted on the Twitter account of Daily Times, a Pakistani newspaper.

On zooming in into the video, it appears that the colour of the liquid isn’t white.

‘Life in Saudi Arabia’, a lifestyle portal which has around 1.3 million likes on Facebook, also reported the event where it said that the man threw petrol at Kiswa, the black cloth wrapped around the Kaaba. The ‘Life in Saudi Arabia’ added also said that such events have happened before.

The man has reportedly been arrested but no further information about him has been revealed yet. His identity could not be ascertained.
