New Delhi: A video showing a severe flood situation at the Kochi airport is being shared widely on social media platform Twitter.

An unverified account on Twitter said Kerala is facing the wrath of celibate Hindu God Lord Ayyappa.

According to the tweet, Lord Ayyappa is angry as his privacy is being disturbed by a petition on allowing women of menstrual age to enter the Sabrimala Temple. The tweet also said the ritual couldn’t be stopped even by the Mughals and the British.

The Supreme Court recently concluded hearings in the case, but the verdict is still awaited.

Kerala is facing its worst floods since 1924, in which more than 60 people have died. As a result, the Kochi Airport has been forced to remain shut till August 26.

By the time this copy was published, the twitter account had deleted the tweet.

However, the video in the tweet above is from Mexico.

El Weso, a Mexican radio programme, tweeted the Mexico City International Airport video in August 2017 when heavy rains hit the country.

The same video was also used to show the flood situation in Mumbai last month.
