Viral 20-second clip that’s being laughed at by BJP bigwigs is actually a shortened version of Rahul Gandhi mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

New Delhi: A video doing the rounds on social media mocking Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi may not be an entirely accurate representation of what he said while on the campaign trail in Gujarat.

In the short video, Gandhi is heard saying: “I will make such a machine, that from one end you can put a potato, and from the other end you will get gold. You will get so much money you will have no idea what to do with it.”

Among those who have shared the 20-second-long clip include BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra, BJP MP from Gujarat Paresh Rawal, and the BJP’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya.

However, the video is neither doctored nor morphed, it’s just an abridged version of what the Congress vice-president said. In the speech, Rahul Gandhi mocks Prime Minister Modi for the promises he made to potato farmers.

In the same speech, while mocking Modi, Gandhi says: “I will give you farm land on moon and you can grow potatoes there also.”

But it is not clear if Modi has ever made such promises.
