New Delhi: Pakistanis want Bollywood to keep Fawad Khan. They find him overrated, with average acting skills and even think he is gay. He is now being bartered. They want Indians to give Kashmir in return for Khan. A barrage of weird reactions flooded the internet after a lifestyle magazine in Pakistan shared a post about how Indians want Fawad Khan back in Bollywood. Last month, Netflix India had wished the Pakistani actor on his birthday.
“We can disagree on politics, or whether briyani originated from Lahore or Delhi. But when it comes to Fawad Khan, we can all agree on the same thing: that the man is extremely good looking. Let’s just admit it: #FawadKhan is the only thing that can bring all of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh together in harmony,” Niche Lifestyle wrote in its post.
Pakistanis, it seems, are done with the hype that Khan brings.
“Take him, India. He still belongs to you. Not accepting our projects, dramas and interviews,” one user commented on the Niche Lifestyle post while another said, “The way they’re still not over him [with a crying emoji].”
Stronger opinions emerged. One even called his project Barzakh “a bullshit project”, adding that Khan lost all respect after the show.

Take Badshah, give Fawad
Meanwhile, across the border, Indians are busy ‘regretting Partition’.
“Jinnah saab hamara kuch to khyal kiya hota (Mr Jinnah, you should have thought about us)”, one disappointed fan wrote.
“Badshah lelo fawad de do pakistan waalo (Take Badshah and give us Fawad, people of Pakistan)”, another user remarked.
Others are busy calling for a subcontinental unity.
“Kash India and Pakistan ek hotey… Dushman na hote… (I wish India and Pakistan were one… and not enemies),” one wistful Instagram user commented.
Earlier this year, Khan’s 2022 blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jutt was to be screened across theatres in Punjab, but was stalled over criticism.
Soon, Variety also announced that the Pakistani actor is shooting a rom-com with Indian actor Vani Kapoor in London called Abir Gulaal.
This year, Khan returned to Indian screens after eight years. His last performance was a cameo in Karan Johar’s 2016 movie, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
