New Delhi: After getting trolled for his dances, quotes, wordplay and almost everything he says, Ravi Kishan has finally reacted to Gen Z, saying that Parliament is the place for the younger generation. He said Gen Z is the generation that gave him name and fame, as he was previously unknown.
“The kind of creativity you (Gen Z) guys are showing is unbelievable,” he said in a media briefing today.
“I salute and pay my respect to all of Gen Z. Prime Minister Narendra Modi listens to Gen Z. Thank you so much to Gen Z; they gave me name and fame, I was unknown,” he added.
The viral frenzy
For the past few months, Ravi Kishan has been heavily trolled on the internet, from his “Money Follows My Brotha” line to his “Peeshan” remark on Raj Shamani’s podcast, with clips from the same being widely shared across social media. Around the same time, an old video of him dancing in Maamla Legal Hai also went viral.
His “Home From Work” slip, “Jaldi The Late” and “NEET Akhbaar” remarks also became viral meme moments, with his clips being widely shared across social media.
Vow of silence
Amid the online trolling and memes, he recently took a “vow of silence”, refraining from speaking to anyone. Finally, after days of silence, he has now addressed Gen Z and thanked the generation for its support.
He previously addressed the issue nearly two months ago at the trailer launch event of Maa Behan, where he argued that he has no idea why he keeps going viral.
“People look at me as if I’ve arrived from some completely different planet. I’m just a human being and I make mistakes like everyone else. Why you guys make me go viral is beyond my understanding,” he said.
International attention
His meme wave later reached international audiences too, with football club Juventus sharing a compilation clip of Cristiano Ronaldo featuring Ravi Kishan’s voice in the background from the reality show Alliance, where he speaks about leaving the show because “duty for nation” had called him.
Borussia Dortmund also shared a friendship-themed video featuring a clip of Ravi Kishan’s awkward expression superimposed on a selfie of the team. Similarly, Liverpool posted a video of the team running from the dressing room, with Ravi Kishan’s “Jaldi The Late” remark playing in the background.
