New Delhi: Munna Bhaiya and Dimpy Pandit of Mirzapur are married in Waiting Hai. The common element of Divyenndu and Harshita Gaur in both the shows generated some interesting reactions on social media.
Waiting Hai follows Sugam Mishra, played by Divyenndu, a newly recruited RPF constable posted in Patna. He is trying to prove himself at a new job while struggling in a marriage. Meanwhile, Afroz Hamza, played by Bhuvan Arora, a computer geek, develops software that can successfully book Tatkal or emergency train tickets and hopes to use his skills to win over the girl he loves.
Hamza’s uncle turns it into a business, creating a network of agents who sell Tatkal tickets at a premium. As the business grows, Hamza and Mama get involved in the illegal ticketing network.
Sugam takes matters into his own hands and investigates the network, eventually identifying and arresting hundreds of ticket agents involved in the racket.
Released on MX Player on Wednesday, Waiting Hai is already creating buzz on social media. While scenes featuring Divyenndu’s acting are going viral, the most interesting reaction has come from the audience connecting Waiting Hai to the Mirzapur series.

Munna Bhaiya as Sugam Mishra
In Mirzapur, Divyenndu’s character Munna Bhaiya did not behave well with Dimpy Pandit, played by Harshita Gaur. They belong to two warring families. But in Waiting Hai, the two actors are married to each other.
“Munna Bhaiya married Dimpy Pandit in parallel universe… I was not paid for this post but ahem ahem,” a user wrote.
One user pointed out that in a parallel universe, Munna Bhaiya and Dimpy could have actually got their happy ending.
“From the chaos, violence and heartbreak of Mirzapur to playing husband and wife in Waiting Hai, seeing Divyenndu and Harshita Gaur together again feels like the reunion we never knew we needed,” a user wrote on Instagram.
Another user quoted a dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan’s film: “They say, don’t they, when you love someone with all your heart, the entire universe conspires to bring them to you… meaning, the wait was long, but love has finally found its fulfillment.”
Not everyone is singing praises. Some users on social media pointed out a scene where Sugam Mishra reports late on his first day at the office. His boss, ASI Lokesh Kumar, played by Daya Shanker Pandey, blames his new marriage, saying he was busy with his wife the previous night. This line alone has prompted questions about the show’s UA 16+ rating.
“See how extremely vulgar, obscene and abusive language is being normalised on OTT platforms,” the user wrote.
A user tagged Divyenndu and urged him to take revenge in the next Mirzapur season. “Munna Bhaiya, kindly take revenge on him in the next Mirzapur season,” the user wrote.
“That one manager every morning,” another user wrote.
Another scene a user posted on Instagram shows ASI Lokesh cursing and shooting at Sugam again. But this time, Sugam reacts angrily and slaps a person at a railway station without a reason. “For 2 minutes it looked like he came in his Munna Bhaiya avatar,” a user wrote.
Fans connect every scene where Sugam gets a little angry with Munna Bhaiya. Sharing a similar scene, one user wrote, “Munna Bhaiya mode activated.”
“Thank your lucky stars you’re not in Mirzapur yet—they’d have blown you away from now,” a user wrote.
Most reactions draw a parallel between his Mirzapur character and his Waiting Hai character. A few people also highlighted Divyenndu’s range as an actor, saying that it is amazing to see how an actor can perform both Munna Tripathi and Sugam Mishra.
“As an audience, it’s on us to not box him into one character and to celebrate his range. He deserves that space to keep surprising us,” a user wrote on X.
