New Delhi: Smriti Irani and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi made a comeback on TV in their latest avatar, but the celebrities who had expressed excitement on the show’s promo release barely a month ago chose not to react after the first episode aired Tuesday night. From Urvashi Dholakia to Arijit Taneja, none took to social media to comment on what they thought of the show. Fans, however, have poured their hearts out online—discussing, debating, critiquing, and sharing images of watching the show.
Actor Urvashi Dholakia, who played the iconic character of Komolika in another K-drama Kasauti Zindagi Kay, maintained silence on social media about the episode. When the promo was announced, she wrote on her Instagram, “She’s back. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, one show, many generations. Countless memories. And now a brand new season to create more. Turn in on July 29 at 10:30 pm on Star Plus to watch the new season.”
Similarly, when the show came out with its teaser, TV actor Shivya Pathania, who played Sita in the series Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, had turned nostalgic. “This show is legacy and pure childhood memories.”
Actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who played a popular Gopi bahu in the show Saath Nibhana Saathiya, had written, “Goosebumps. So many childhood memories and my inspiration to be one like Tulsi. Uff nostalgic.”
Actors Arijit Taneja wrote, “Seedhi si baat hai kuch kahaniyan kabhi purani nahi hoti, 25 saal baad bhi, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, wahi ehsaas, whi dhamaka lekar aa rha hai. Aaya Samajh?” (It’s simple—some stories never get old, even after 25 years. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is bringing back the same emotions with a bang. Got it?) when the promo came out.
Close to the first episode’s release date, the actor shared a timer for a watch party.

Kyunki’s cast
The actors who have returned with Kyunki’s new season, however, expressed their excitement.
Actor Ashlesha Savant, who is back in the show as a daughter-in-law of the Virani household, shared a photo with Smriti Irani and wrote, “I remember telling you I can’t wait for you to come back. And it’s happening with how it all started for you and for so many of us,” wrote the actor. She also tagged Irani and wrote, “I love you @smritiiraniofficial and it gives me immense happiness to say #kyunkisaasbhikabhibahuthi is back !!!!.
Another actor from the show’s ensemble cast, Shagun Sharma, commented ‘emotional rollercoaster’ under a promotional post about the show shared by Star Plus.
Hiten Tejwani, who plays Karan Virani and is one of the popular faces from the show, dropped hearts on the Star Plus promo of the show. Shakti Anand, who plays Tulsi’s son Hemant, shared fan reactions to the show on his stories.
Smriti Irani, who has been giving interviews about her return to TV, however, only shared snippets from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on Operation Sindoor on her Twitter account.
