New Delhi: CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has announced a nationwide protest if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign within 48 hours.
The Cockroach Janta Party has announced three demands following The Indian Express report on differences within the Election Commission of India. CJP said, as part of its protest, it would organise demonstrations across the country.
After The Indian Express reported on Wednesday about the objections within the Election Commission of India, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke posted on X, “Gyanesh, it’s done bro!”
The news organisation, in a special investigation, reported that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi objected at least 14 times over the last 10 months to decisions taken and orders issued without their knowledge.
CJP’s demands
While addressing the press conference, CJP national spokesperson Saurav Das announced the party’s three demands.
The first is Kumar’s resignation. Das said the upcoming elections should be put on hold immediately.
The second demand is to freeze the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and roll back the electoral rolls to the January 2025 voter list.
CJP’s third demand is to constitute an independent inquiry commission to examine the decision-making processes involved in the SIR.
CJP also held the Supreme Court ‘equally culpable’.
Das argued that all election-related documents should be submitted for examination before ‘they are burnt to ashes’.
Dipke called on citizens to fight for their fundamental rights and urged political parties to come forward ‘for the nation’.
He also labelled Kumar ‘anti-national’ and called him ‘the biggest threat to Indian democracy’.
