New Delhi: Brandon reads every message and writes what he really thinks about everyone in it. This is a one-line description of the AI-powered chat analysis tool named What Brandon Thinks. It wants you to upload a chat thread from any app—WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram etc—and wait for the bot expert to give his take on the issue being discussed in the chat.
Once a user gets started on the website, the AI Brandon asks them to choose what kind of chat they want to be analysed. Romantic, Friends Group, Any Friend, Family, Work/Team, and other. The last category includes conversations with anyone, such as roommates, neighbours, and vendors, among others.
Even though this isn’t the first AI helping hand decoding human chats, Brandon is a character unlike ChatGPT and Claude.
“Brandon reads the conversation and writes what he notices: who initiates, how the tone changes, the recurring jokes, the mixed signals, and what keeps happening between you,” the bio of What Brandon Thinks’ LinkedIn page reads.

Risk of personal data
The AI analyser takes pride in being funny; he roasts the users and gives reflections as if they were punchlines. If a user isn’t satisfied with an initial report, they can ask Brandon to dig deeper in the same conversation. The full reports are paid; the initial ones are free.
“Whether you want to understand a relationship, see your friendships from a different perspective, or find out what your family group chat reveals, What Brandon Thinks gives you a fresh read on the conversations you already have,” the bio adds. The chat analyser is available in English, French and Spanish.
The yearning younglings who are often depending on third parties—friends and AI—to figure out the hidden meaning behind text messages are expectedly falling for Brandon. However, the risk of uploading personal chats on a platform like Brandon has its own risks. Apparently, the risk of personal data being stolen is a lesser worry when it comes to deciding “Who was making more sense in this conversation?’, “Was I right,” “Does he love me?”
Just like Brandon, many chatbot analysts such as Relationship AI, Lucen, ChatVisor, SiteGPT, MosaicChats, and one specifically built for WhatsApp chats—WhatsAnalyze. There is no way to determine how safe, and how smart any of these platforms.
