New Delhi: Former cricketer Virender Sehwag is set to host Rise and Fall Season 2. The reality show’s trailer was released on Friday, opening with Sehwag dressed as Newton and explaining his theory of gravity in a whole new way.
“Nature has one simple rule: what goes up must come down. But is life really that simple?” he said.
He then becomes a doctor, solving a patient’s BP problem by advising him not to get angry.
“Take it easy, Tau, or you will just get a one-way ticket up,” he says.
In the nearly two-minute trailer, Sehwag takes on different avatars, including that of a teacher. He also becomes a martial artist who speaks through a television hanging in a couple’s bedroom.
He then explains the format of the show. The contestants will be divided into rulers, who will live in a penthouse and enjoy all the luxuries. However, if they make a mistake, they will become workers and be thrown into the basement, where “pain, trouble and suffering are absolutely free.” The contestants can only win when they survive the basement.

‘No easy wins’
Sehwag also brings his cricket experience into the show, with the former India opener saying that cricket taught him that nothing is decided until the very end. He has described the show as a game where there are “no easy wins and no fixed positions.” At the end of the trailer, Sehwag appears dressed as Yamraj.
The show is based on the British show of the same name, which started in 2025 with Ashneer Grover as the host. The first season was won by Arjun Bijlani. The first season divided contestants into Rulers and Workers, with the Rulers living in a luxurious penthouse while the Workers stayed in a basic basement and competed for their chance to rise.
The show will stream on Prime Video, and the release date is yet to be announced.
