Film eyes release
Based loosely on the 2020 India-China skirmishes in Galwan, Maatrubhumi was earlier titled Battle of Galwan before being renamed.
The film is reportedly facing certification hurdles over its content and references to China, particularly amid efforts to improve diplomatic relations between the two countries. Although the film has received government clearance, it is still awaiting screening and certification from the CBFC.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the makers are eyeing a 13 November release, although the date is yet to be confirmed.
