New Delhi: The second English trailer of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend was released on Thursday. It offers a glimpse of Yash as Ravana fighting Indra, who is riding his divine elephant Airavata.

The over-two-minute trailer focuses on Ravana’s rise and his ambition to establish his kingdom, with several action sequences featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Ram.

The trailer opens with a narration about Ravana’s rise. “The time when men walked among Gods, an evil rose among darkness,” the voiceover narrates, before introducing Yash as Ravana, who declares, “For me, every head will bow,”

The focus then shifts to Ranbir Kapoor’s Ram, with the narration describing him as humanity’s hope against Ravana.

“Men have one hope. Not a God, but man. Ram,” the voiceover says. Ram is also seen fighting hundreds of asuras in a jungle.

The trailer also offers glimpses of Ram and Sita (Sai Pallavi), returning to Ayodhya after their marriage.

“If I don’t stop him, the world will fall. This is just the beginning,” Ram says, toward the end of the trailer, warning about the threat Ravan poses.

The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, has been mounted on an enormous scale, with Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman coming together for the music. Besides Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi, the film also stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Kunal Kapoor plays Indra.

The film is set for a massive international release, with Sony Pictures leading its global distribution campaign. The makers are targeting audiences across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Southeast Asia.

The first part, titled Ramayana: Rise of a Legend for international audiences, is scheduled to release in theatres on 5 November, while the second part is planned for 2027.

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
