New Delhi: The CID team is back with a new crime show, Paapanasham. Backed by Daya Shetty Production, the upcoming crime drama brings together the original trio: Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, and Dayanand Shetty.
The show also features Ajay Nagrath, who played Pankaj in the originals, and Ansha Sayed, who played Purvi.
Satam announced in a video on social media that the team has started shooting in Mangalore, while Srivastava clarified that the new project is a crime show with a twist.
“This is indeed a crime show, but with a slight twist,” he said, adding that “all of us will be seen in completely new characters.”
The reunion was announced in an Instagram video in June by Shetty, where the team appeared to be on a video call, greeting each other after a long time and discussing new ideas. During the call, the team said that they couldn’t leave behind their 25-year-long relationship with CID fans. The video ended with them arriving at a YouTube channel under the banner of Dayanand Shetty Productions.
The announcement of the new show gathered CID fans in the comment section.

In 2024, Shetty and Srivastava starred on a YouTube channel called Infinity Production, where they uploaded travel and food vlogs under a series titled Safarkhana. The channel also offered behind-the-scenes stories from the days when they used to shoot for the popular show, as well as other series.
CID started in 1998 and ran with much of the same core cast for years. The show recently returned with new episodes streaming on Netflix.
