Chandigarh, Apr 20 (PTI) Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij on Monday said under the Land Recovery Act, notices will be issued within 15 days to consumers whose electricity connections have been permanently disconnected, to recover all dues.

Special campaigns are being undertaken to recover the total outstanding amount of Rs 8,200 crore across the state, and coordination with government departments will further expedite the process, Vij said.

According to an official statement, Vij has issued clear instructions to officials concerned to ensure that the recovery process is completed within the stipulated timeframe without any laxity.

Vij said strict action is being taken to curb electricity theft. Consumers found involved in such cases will be given one final opportunity to clear their dues through fresh notices issued under the Land Recovery Act, he said.

He reiterated that the state’s power utilities are fully committed to ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply to consumers.

In a recent review meeting, officials were directed to ensure that there are no unnecessary disruptions in power supply during the summer season.

Vij said complaints related to power supply will be resolved promptly. Faulty transformers in urban areas must be replaced within two hours and within four hours in rural areas, he directed officials.

Adequate transformer banks and mobile trolleys will be ensured in every subdivision. Additionally, daily power supply data will be regularly submitted to the Energy Minister’s office.

Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Vij said efforts will be accelerated to achieve the target of providing solar power to 2.2 lakh households by March 2027. PTI SUN TRB TRB
