MoS Pabitra Margherita to visit Caribbean & Latin America, bolster diplomatic ties

Margherita will visit Grenada, Barbados, and Antigua and Barbuda, & will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of H.E. Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum as the President of Mexico.

New Delhi: Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Pabitra Margherita (MoS) will pay an official visit to Mexico, Grenada, Barbados, and Antigua and Barbuda.​ According to a PIB press release, the visit is aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations with Latin America, and the Caribbean by bolstering political, economic, and cultural ties.

Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita (MoS), is set to depart on September 30 for an official visit to Mexico, Grenada, Barbados and Antigua and Barbuda. The four-nation visit is expected to strengthen diplomatic relations between India and Latin America and the Caribbean by bolstering political, economic, and cultural ties.

During this visit, the MoS will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of H.E. Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum as the President of Mexico on 1 October. This is the first Ministerial-level visit from India to Grenada since May 2018 and the second ever such visit to the country.​

The visit will include meetings with Foreign Ministers, interaction with key political, trade, and industry leaders, ITEC alumni members, and Indian diaspora; and a visit to bilateral project sites. The visit aims to pave the way for greater collaboration in the areas of trade, investment, science and technology, and culture.
