New Delhi: To strengthen maritime cooperation and bilateral ties with Sri Lanka, two Indian Coast Guard ships have docked in Galle after completing their training in Male.
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ships Samarth and Abhinav are visiting Sri Lanka for training and professional interactions with the Sri Lankan Coast Guard.

The ships arrived in Galle on February 28 and, after visiting the port, they will engage in training sessions with the Sri Lankan Coast Guard personnel. This is a part of the joint operational activities of trilateral exercise #DOSTI XVI.

As part of this, training was conducted on February 24 on pollution response and similar measures were implemented. The presence of these Indian Coast Guard ships in Sri Lanka will strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in maritime affairs. This will also promote regional maritime security and stability. The joint exercises will help both countries improve their capabilities and respond effectively to the challenges faced in the Indian Ocean region.

The visit of these ships is also a testament to the longstanding ties between India and Sri Lanka. It also reaffirms their commitment to maritime safety and security.
