New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Wednesday that as part of Operation Sindoor, Indian forces had precisely destroyed pre-decided targets, ensuring no civilian areas were affected.
He said, “We have destroyed the targets we decided on with precision and according to plan. We have shown sensitivity by ensuring that no civilian location or population was affected at all.” He emphasised that this was the result of the Army’s precision, alertness, and humanity.
The defence minister was addressing the inauguration of 50 Border Roads Organisation (BRO) infrastructure projects spread across six states and two Union Territories (UTs).
His remarks followed the joint attacks launched by the Army and the Indian Air Force (IAF), which targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan.
From the 21 terror camps and training facilities located across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the Indian military specifically targeted nine sites using missiles launched both from fighter aircraft and armed unmanned aircraft.
According to the statement released by the Ministry of Defence in the early hours of Wednesday soon after the attacks, no Pakistani military facilities were targeted.
India’s retaliation against Pakistan came days after the Pahalgam terror attack which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indians and one Nepalese citizen.
Singh stated, “As you all know, last night, the Indian forces made history by displaying their valour and courage. The Indian Army acted with precision, alertness, and sensitivity.”
He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian forces had delivered a “befitting reply” by launching Operation Sindoor. He highlighted that, as in earlier instances, the forces destroyed the terrorist training camps. “India has used its ‘Right to Respond’ to answer the attack on its soil,” he said.
Singh further remarked, “We have followed the ideal of Hanuman ji, which he followed while destroying Ashok Vatika, ‘Jin mohi maara, tin mohi maare,’ meaning we killed only those who killed our innocent people.”
He stressed that the military action had been carried out thoughtfully and in a thoroughly planned manner. “To break the morale of the terrorists, this action has been limited only to their camps and infrastructure.”
