The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has seized drugs worth Rs. 600 crore off the coast of Pakistan. The drugs were discovered on a Pakistani ship during an anti-narcotics operation, a PIB press release stated.

The ICG said that the ship was identified as a Pakistani vessel despite attempts to evade detection. It said that the ship’s specialist team boarded the suspect boat and confirmed the presence of a sizeable amount of narcotics after thorough checks.

The 14-person crew of the ship is currently being escorted to Porbandar for further investigation and legal proceedings. The ICG said that this is the eleventh successful law enforcement operation carried out by the anti-terrorism squad (ATS) and NCB officials in the last three years.

The ICG said that the jointness of the two organizations will continue to strengthen the synergy for national objectives.
