Whatever happened, sooner or later Balraj Sahni would return to Marx and Engels and the example of the Soviet Union. That was his answer to every social ill.
The river became an ally for the EIC’s military expeditions from the early 19th century and became a way to gain control over the northeast's untamed geographies.
Nostalgia, romance, and a love of heritage alone cannot make the beloved trams of Kolkata sustainable. Simple science can. Transport Minister, are you with us still?

Sri Lankan transition was smoothly managed. Check Bangladesh for contrast. They forced their incumbent into exile, installed a mostly unelectable govt of non-political people.
Whether it turns out to be a blunder or not, Z.D. Singh offers very interesting insights in his book. He quotes Nehru “any interference by any other power would also be an interference in the political system of India…a thing which India cannot tolerate…and she will oppose” (Singh, Z.D., 2019: 198. Power and Diplomacy. Oxford University Press). There is a common thread in India’s foreign policy, and it has evolved as the world kept changing. To be in awe of a bunch of incompetent buffoons, who laid the foundations of/for the failure of the benighted country they administered requires a special kind of woolly headedness. Today India is a desperately poor country with some of the lowest HDIs on the planet due to this gang of morons.
It’s secession not succession.
Thackerey fan loathing Kher. Ouch!!!!
Future will tell us that birth of Bangladesh was a historic blunder for India.
