Modi govt will need to address massive challenges without the total power it got used to, in the face of relentless electoral challenges, one after another.
Changed reality for Modi govt in its 3rd innings is by no means rise of a new phenomenon. It's a return to old normal where even majorities had to routinely wrestle with storied million mutinies.
Occasional lovers’ tiffs have marked history of RSS-BJP relations. To think that Nagpur will bring about any change in leadership is a misreading of both its intent and its power.
Muslim vote is BJP’s biggest worry. Knives are already out and probing its most critical fault line. Without recovering UP, BJP’s decline threatens to become chronic, and progressive.
2024 was a one-candidate election. Modi was the only candidate for whom BJP sought votes, and he was the only opponent most of its rivals wanted defeated.
Discussion about outcome of Lok Sabha polls continues to boil in cauldron of expectations only from BJP. Now reverse this equation, what if we asked about the performance of the 'loser'?
Even in the weeks leading up to Chamkila’s assassination there were massacres every other day. To airbrush all of this is sheer intellectual cowardice if not a crime.
A theme has not yet emerged for BJP & people see lack of a contest, which makes it unexciting. For all these reasons, 2024 is turning out to be an unexpectedly theme-less election.
As the BJP heads for a likely third successive term in power, it's fascinating to debate how true it looks to the original proposition: a party with a difference.
That the Modi government would actually dismantle the architecture of one of the UPA era’s most significant rural welfare programmes, and remove MK Gandhi’s name, took the Opposition by surprise.
It is argued that India-Israel ties are moving from buyer–seller dynamic to one focused on joint development & manufacturing partnership, a shift 'more durable' than traditional arms sales.
If Pathaan gave both conservatives and liberals room to hide, Dhurandhar extends no such courtesy. Aditya Dhar ripped open that tent of hypocrisy and turned the knife.
If farm laws were so good, why couldn’t the govt started with one single state, say Gujarat or MP, and when the concept were shown to be beneficial implemented it nationwide. They didn’t do it because they were not confident themselves. They tried to force it because of their desperation to show us and themselves that they are big decision makers. Same happened with the Land acquisition bill. But we need wise decision makers, not a govt which works as if a fledgeling startups these days.
This govt is always in the self-denial mode. They are sold to the idea of trickle down, which hasn’t worked in the west too, UK is the most fresh case. In India we need to think at a very fundamental level, just like China did. We can’t just parrot western capitalism. Our wealth divide is extremely uneven.
Modi will change nothing, he is destined for total wipe out from Hindi belt next time. Just look how he has treated Ministry of MSME which deals with largest job provider sector in our country. He gifted the Ministry to 81 year Old opportunist Manjhi who has no idea or energy to take the roll.
Modi is too busy working for the rich and cronies. Such a massive disappointment he is. He had got the opportunity of a generation to take India forward and make a legacy for himself. But he totally blew it. He will have no legacy, he will still be remembered for only Gujarat Riots. All he did was 1 gimmick after another. He has failed to bring prosperity to ordinary Indians. He could have used the current geopolitical tensions to benefit ordinary Indians, reducing petrol prices etc, but he used it to fill coffers and profit making of Ambani. He shoves policies and his megalomaniac instincts down the throat when it comes to ordinary people, but he is so afraid to even touch the rich. Look at how he behaved with Sudden Covid Lockdown and migrant labours, Notebandi (he found it easy to put 130 crores Indians in line than putting out even the names of those 20-30 Indians who have Black money in the Swizz Bank), agnipath, farm laws, gst, Manipur etc. All of those were brutally pushed to ordinary Indians.
Modi is a snob. He is highly incompetent. He acts as if a hero of 80s bollywood film, totally like an impatient jerk. And you certainly have fallen for this filmy blockhead. He acts not like a prime minister, but more like a celebrity. This man cannot lead India, he needs to go. But we also need a better alternative than RaGa.
Farmers are an obstacle to progress.
