Beyond the lives lost, millions more experience heart attacks, strokes and long-term disability, creating an immense burden on families, healthcare systems and national economies.

This week, that journey reached another milestone.
Gosalia participated in the inaugural United Nations Global AI Governance Dialogue in Geneva, where ministers, Member States, United Nations agencies, scientists, academia, civil society and industry leaders gathered to discuss how artificial intelligence should be governed to serve humanity responsibly.
While the Dialogue addressed AI across multiple sectors, Gosalia brought a healthcare implementation perspective centered on cardiovascular disease; the world’s largest killer and one of the greatest public-health challenges of our time. His contribution reflected a simple belief. The future of cardiovascular medicine will not be determined only by discovering more science. It will be determined by how effectively healthcare systems translate decades of scientific knowledge into everyday prevention.
Earlier this year, speaking at the World Heart Federation’s World Heart Summit in Geneva, Gosalia summarized that philosophy:
“We understand the pathobiology of atherosclerosis in remarkable detail. The gap is no longer science; it is operational. Cardiovascular disease has been screened for decades. What has never been successfully embedded into healthcare systems is continuous cardiovascular prevention.”
According to Gosalia, healthcare has made extraordinary progress in preventive cardiology, precision medicine and advanced lipid science. Yet much of that knowledge remains fragmented across healthcare systems, making it difficult to deliver consistent, evidence-based prevention before disease develops. He believes cardiovascular prevention should become as routine as measuring blood pressure; not an occasional screening event, but a continuous, longitudinal part of healthcare throughout an individual’s life.
That philosophy became the foundation for AnginaX, the organization he founded to help healthcare systems operationalize cardiovascular prevention through evidence-based clinical workflows, interoperability and Responsible AI while keeping physicians at the center of every clinical decision. During discussions at the United Nations Global AI Governance Dialogue, Gosalia emphasized that healthcare presents a unique governance challenge. While common principles for AI governance are essential, healthcare also demands rigorous scientific evidence, patient safety, clinical accountability and continuous evaluation in real-world settings.
He also noted that cardiovascular disease extends well beyond medicine.
“Heart attacks are not only a clinical crisis. They are a social, economic, geographic, nutritional and environmental crisis; a silent pandemic hiding in plain sight.”
Over the past year, Gosalia has contributed implementation perspectives through engagements with the World Heart Federation, international healthcare leaders, government collaborations and global discussions on Responsible AI. His work increasingly focuses on one objective: helping modern cardiovascular science become operational within routine healthcare so prevention reaches people before disease does.
Reflecting on the significance of participating in the United Nations Global AI Governance Dialogue, Gosalia said:
“History has a way of remembering the moments when humanity chooses to act. I hope we look back on this decade as the time we moved beyond discussing prevention and began making it part of everyday healthcare. We already have extraordinary cardiovascular science. We have precision medicine. We have digital infrastructure. We now have Responsible AI. If we apply these responsibly to prevent millions of heart attacks and strokes before they happen, that will be one of AI’s greatest contributions to humanity. In the end, history will not remember how AI governance frameworks were written. It will remember whether humanity benefited because we chose to implement them responsibly.”
As governments continue shaping the future of artificial intelligence, Gosalia believes healthcare offers one of the clearest measures of success.
