Can we all agree now that whichever “ism” you may espouse; ultimately most of the “Public servants” ?? can never overcome the addiction of Power, Positions, Possessions, Popularity…..Different “isms” are adopted to achieve these…. no feelings of satiety. Thats why now a days we find it difficult to differentiate between Capitalism & Socialism. You may be better off in differentiating between the shades of grey!!
We Indians have been the direct victims of pseudo-socialism of the Congress party for the past 70 years, especially under UPA government, while it fed the captalist looters of the country, who, one by one are running away from the country or the scams are still coming out even 6 years after UPA has ended.
Shashi Tharoor, you might be a world class intelligentsia and might have read a lot but you need to be ashamed of yourselves if you still do not understand that many Indians are far more intelligent and well read than you or any other Congress hypocrite & hermaphrodite, but chose to be true to their life aims rather than cheat millions of people out of their earnings just to win elections.
What did UPA do to solve farming crisis? As per socialism, gave away two nationwide farm loan waivers while it did not reform FCI or build infrastructure under FCI or private industry to hold foodstocks or bring out any agricultural market reform.
What else did you expect would happen when you give taxpayers money away for free who fail in their work and then take away depositors’ money in banks to support parasitic individuals.?
What India is facing is all the making of Congress and pseudo-intellectuals like you.
It may be a direction, but perhaps doesn’t have as much momentum as, say, ‘veganism’ or ‘climate change’. It may take one more full-blown episode of Wall Street’s profligacy to gather momentum. Perhaps!!
It will be nice to see America transforming into socialist shithole.
Mr. Tharoor seems to be living in an alternate world. As per reports from reliable sources, unemployment in the US is at its lowest in 50 years.
As far as socialism is concerned, it has always been a part of the problem and never a part of the solution. Increasing tilt towards socialism will only make things worse for the US.
Socialism is making America horrible and this guy praises America for it. Just look at the street crimes of Chicago and San Francisco.
