Very well written article. This is active research area the world over. The so called ‘sperm swimming’ is not conventional swimming. The sperm moves ahead due to its lashing like movement. Quite like the flagellar movement of algae…The angle of its tail with the fluid surface during impact and the twisting of its entire body due to the change in shape stores energy which propels it’s forward. The asymmetry in the movement also contributes to the net non zero force in the forward direction when we consider both right and left wise lashing w.r.t its central axis.
Our group is also working on it. Other institutions in India are also involved

Wrong article.. in Indian ancient history this was known fact. Your Claim is just like what has been wrote about “india was found yby vascodgama” Only Indians were roaming around the world and making business its just about rest of the world was capable to roam after 16th century.
We Indians know about Sperm and it’s theory for ages. It’s just that the vast loot of our literature could not be understood by western invaders, or they did not realise what they had looted. Nevertheless, the whole history taught today is not true! The word Sperm or “vindhu” in Tamil has been coined at least 5000 years before and there is proof. It is a shame that such articles still hold high the ego not to respect/understand the efforts of our ancestors! Well, that’s how it is destined to go!
In the optical microscope, it will be appear it is swimming simply by lashing its tail. It is swimming but by a more complex mechanism involving rotating along its axis, and lashing the tail.
Thanks for the article. The channel 4 documentary video in Dailymotion was extraordinary.
Sperm and how its works is mentioned in the holy Quran 1500 years ago

A funny research without conclusion, doubts cannot be taken as a research, there should be conclusion with proof.
I now know waaw
Very little information, but not wrong. It’s correct
Corona virous can only be seen in electron microscope
Article don’t have any feel of science in it.
Can this microscope be used to see coronA physically.
So they swim. What a clickbait.
This is a genuine piece of novel scientific information. A demonstrating video would have been even better.

Yes, everything was discovered by ancient Hindus. Then why are you so primitive today ?
We are enjoying the primitive war going on between Bengalis and Oriyas on Rasgola
Poorly edited article – too many errors. Unexpected from The Print
Because the culture here was ruined by external invaders
I don’t think so because simple microscopic technique show it’s swimming behavior.
Is it the sperm that has been fooling or those who interpreted it the first time and propagated it ever since then?
